Building on the established proportions of the pure BMW roadster, the Z4's high arcing hood lines and aggressiveness thrust the imagination irresistibly toward the road ahead. A new sense of futuristic dynamism rules every detail. From the minutely controlled surfacing, a revolutionary interplay of concave and convex surfaces to the raked back windscreen to the racy angles of the headlights that are echoed in the flank scoops.
The Z4 spiritually draws its character from BMW roadsters of the past. We pay homage to our quality and craftsmanship in the pure spirit of the classic 328 Roadster. And sets new standards for the modern roadster in performance engineering in ride, handling, precision, and quality. The Z4 captures the spiritual character of a BMW pure roadster in look, feel and design and makes an extravagant futuristic design statement for BMW. The traditional roadster elements of engine in front, rear wheel drive, extremely long hood...are maintained.
Innovating the future does not mean fulfilling old notions of what the future should be. It means devotion to the principle of innovation based on new technological possibilities in surfacing and details.
